| Lystrosaurus. Lystrosaurus was one of the earliest dinosaurs. It's small. About the size of a domestic cat. The first fossil was found in 1870 and named by Edward Cope. The name derived from Greek means "shovel lizard".
In 1969 Edwin Colbert discovered a Lystrosaurus fossil in Antarctica. This helped to prove the concept of continental drift. |
