    • Some genealogies claim Abiel married Benjamin Albee of Mendon, Massachusetts. There is no direct evidence of this. If one assumes this is true, then a different Abiel Wheelock married Joseph Ward. This second Abiel is not accounted for in the Vital Records of Massachusets.

The Wheelock-Ward connection in Marlborough is well documented. Abiel's aunt, Record Wheelock married Increase Ward in Medfield, and then moved to Marlborough.

There are at least two contemporary genealogy books that say Benjamin Albee married Abiel (maiden name unknown). Further evidence needs to be found if the Wheelock-Albee connection is to be taken as fact.
