| Scenes, memories, and travels of eighty-two years : and short sketches of the Lanphear and Potter families Scenes, memories, and travels of eighty-two years : and short sketches of the Lanphear and Potter families. Written and published by Ethan Lanphear. 1900.
At the age of 82 Ethan Lanphear wrote about his life. This book is an easy read and should be required reading for all school children. Any history buff will love this book. In a time when travel was hard Ethan saw more of the country than many people do today. Particularly engaging were the details surrounding the 85th NY Volunteers in the Civil War, including their capture and imprisonment in Andersonville prison. This is a full book. File size is 16.3M.
