- The book "The Bent Family in America" published in 1900 says Mary's maiden name is "not ascertained". I have seen poorly sourced Internet sites attributing three diffrent names to the Lady. Part of the confusion is the lives of this Peter Bent and the Peter bent living in Sudbury Massachusetts being confused.. Until I can find a diffinitive source I am sticking with "maiden name not ascertained".
