Communion Chalice. The mission called for several hours between landing and exiting the lander. In that Time astronaut "Buzz" Aldrin became the first person to take the holy communion on the moon. In his APK (astronaut preference kit) he carried a small chalice,a small vial of wine and a communion wafer. |

Buzz Aldrin's Scripture. The real moon landing cover-up was this religious ceremony. During the Apollo 8 mission the astronauts read scripture over the radio on the occasion of Christmas Eve, An atheist sued NASA. The lawsuit was tossed but, NASA remained gun shy about religion.
Buzz wanted to read his scripture over the radio but, NASA forbade it. As they waited Buzz got on the radio and spoke to the ground crew on Earth. I would like to request a few moments of silence. I would like to invite each person listening in, wherever and whomever he may be, to contemplate for a moment the events of the past few hours and to give thanks in his own individual way.
