  Biographical Information	On 8 Aug 1704 Several of Edmund and Thomas Rice's children were working in the field. Nahor was scalped and killed. Ashur, Adonijah, Timothy and Silas Rice were kidnapped and taken to Canada. Ashur, Adonijah were eventually returned. Timothy and Silas had children by Indian wives. Timothy, whose Indian name was Oughtsorangoughton, became the third of six chiefs of the Cognawaga tribe. On September of 1740, Timothy returned to Westborough MA He was accompanied by an interpreter as he no longer knew the English language. He viewed his childhood home, the place where he was captured. While he could remember his capture, he did not desire to stay in Westborough. He returned to Canada.
  		The Rice capture memorial Tablet. In 1704 children of Edmund and Thomas Rice were working in the field when they were attacked by Indians. Nahor Rice was killed. Four others were kidnapped. On 5 September 1904 the Westborough Historical Society dedicated this memorial tablet attached to a boulder at the location believed to be the location of the attack.
