  Occupation	He studied two years at Brown University, Rhode Island and finished at Union College, Massachusetts where he was graduated, A. B., 1818. He went on to study theology under the direction of Doctors Emmons and Ide of Medway, Massachusetts. He was pastor in East Randolph, Massachusetts, (now Holbrook), 1819-'36; in Framingham, Massachusetts, 1837-'45; Bridgewater, Central Square Church, 1845-'59 He retired from the ministry with impaired health and resided several years in Fall River. Was pastor of a small church in Waquoit, a section of Falmouth, 1863-'69. In 1876 he attempted to fill the pulpit of the Second Church in Plymouth, Massachusetts, but a serious illness interrupted his labors. He served 62 years in the ministry.
