  Biographical Information	He moved to Madison with his father and in 1810 he settled in Sheridan; when he went there he took a pack of 50 pound weight of tools, provisions, etc.; in company with his brother Haven he built the first sawmill in the place, but soon sold out to Haven; being a carpenter he took a contract to build the first building at Mayville, and he built the second sawmill in Sheridan. In 1835 He had taken passage on a boat from Detroit to Dunkirk, N. Y., but bad weather intervened and they were carried by the port and he died on the passage; was interred in Buffalo in an unknown spot.
