Does that mean this is the Apple Tree?



This is not the typical genealogy book. First John Chapman was a very religious man and he felt marriage was not for him. Therefore the book tracks decedents of John's father who is not even named in the book. It's not very long. It's not well sourced and it has holes big enough to drive a truck through. The compelling reason to include it here is it makes the case that John "Johnny Appleseed" was buried at the location once known as "Roebuck Farm" and not at the cemetery where he is memorialized today.

The relationships are provided not as much to family history as they are at providing context to the various affidavits reproduced in the book. While it's a poor genealogy source it makes a compelling argument for the alternative burial site and, is a jumping off point to begin research.
