Report: Scenes Memories, and Travels by Ethan Lanphear

Description: This list details the individuals in the book: Scenes Memories, and Travels of the Eighty-Two Years and Short Sketches of the Lanphear and Potter Families. Authored and published by Ethan Lanphear, about 1900, exact publication date unknown.

Scenes Memories, and Travels

At the age of 82 Ethan Lanphear wrote about his life. This book is an easy read and should be required reading for all school children. Any history buff will love this book. In a time when travel was hard Ethan saw more of the country than many people do today. Particularly engaging were the details surrounding the 85th NY Volunteers in the Civil War, including their capture and imprisonment in Andersonville prison. This is not exactly a genealogy book however, it dose contain genealogical information. There is no numbering system so individuals are listed by the page number that they first appear on.
