- Visitation for Norman A. Nagel, 92, of Kankakee, formerly of South Holland, will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Friday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church in Bourbonnais. The Rev. Jim Michaletz will officiate. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Memorials may be made to Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago, or to the Alzheimer's Association. He passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Riverside Medical Center. Mr. Nagel was plant superintendent for Barker Chemical Co. for 38 years. He was born Nov. 16, 1917, in Chicago, the son of Albert and Anna Kuebrich Nagel. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, the former Rachel Sullivan, whom he married Sept. 26, 1942, in Chicago; two sons and one daughter-in-law, John Nagel, of Aurora, Michael and Linda Nagel, of Charlotte, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Steven Crane, of Bourbonnais; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Cecil Magee, of Dallas, Texas; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald and Claudette Nagel, of Palos Park, Albert and Katryn Nagel, of Atlanta, Ga., and Clarence Nagel, of Bay Village, Ohio. Deceased are his parents; four sisters, Mildred Lamberty, Theresa Hickle, Anna Rose Childress and Joan Ross; and one brother, Edmond Nagel.
