  	Jerry was a Secret Service agent. He was in charge of Ronald Reagan?s detail and, was credited with saving the president?s life during the 1981 assassination attempt.
  		Reagan Assassination Attempt. The scene March 30, 1981 after shots were fired by John Hinckley Jr.. DC police officer Thomas Delahanty was shot in the back. His injury forced him to retire. Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy took a bullet that would have hit the President and recovered. White House Press Secretary, James Brady was hit in the head and paralyzed. When he passed in 2014 his death was ruled a homicide as a result of the wound he suffered that day. President Reagan's wound punctured his lung. He was close to death when he reached the hospital but, he made a recovery.
  		Parr pushing the President into his limo. Although the president was in pain no one realized the president had been shot. Jerry pushed him into the limo and ordered the motorcade to drive to the hospital. His quick action is credited with saving the president's life.
