Biographical Information |
He attempted to join the Army and the Navy but, he was rejected due to bad eyesight. Determined to serve he volunteered to work with the Red Cross with the intention of joining the French Foreign Legion once he was in country.
He set sail for France about October 1, 1918. During the voyage he became ill with influenza. He died in a hospital in Bordeaux. He was buried there with military honors. |
