  		The Great Society. In 1965 with others, Grace and her husband Jerry, as drummer formed "The Great Society".
  		Jefferson Airplane. In 1966 the lead singer of "Jefferson Airplane" quit. Grace was asked to take her place. She accepted because she found the band to be far more professional than her current band.
  		Jefferson Starship. In 1970 Airplane broke up. Grace along with a couple other members formed "Jefferson Starship". Grace also released three solo albums while part of this group.
  		Starship. In 1985 the band broke up. Grace formed "Starship". It lasted until 1989 when Grace decided to retire.
  		Grace Slick Painting. In an interview on VH1 Grace said; "All rock-and-rollers over the age of 50 look stupid and should retire." She has lived by that only appearing on stage for a few special occasions since she retired. Much of her time since then has been taken up by painting. The subjects are typically animals, Alice in Wonderland or, other rock musicians like this one she did of Pete Townsend of the Who.
