    • Aaron deserted his family. His whereabouts were unknown and he was not contributing to the support of his family. He returned on September 1, 1864 however he was ill and suffering from paralysis so he was still unable to provide for his family. The dates given are the dates entered into testimony when his son Arron Augustus was killed in service and his mother had to apply for a mother's pension to compensate for the loss of his contribution to the family. The reason for the absence was not recorded as part of the pension process.
