  	Enlisted in the United States Navy in 1857 and went to the Mediterranean. In 1861 he enlisted in Company B of the 6th Massachusetts Volunteers, and was in the Baltimore Riot. He was discharged in August of the same year.

• Notes

  On April 27, 1889 as the inhabitants of Kirksville Missouri were sitting down to dinner a tornado struck. It cut a path 600 feet long by a mile long through the town with 7000 residents. 45 people were killed, around 150 were injured. Hundreds were left homeless. Theodore Brigham was found dead having been blown several hundred feet away from his house.
