    in 1867 after his military service Harrison bought a lot on what was at the time the northern outskirts of Indianapolis and, built his house. Except for the time that his political service called him to Washington D.C. he spent the rest of his life there. It was in the master bedroom that he passed. Today the house stands as a museum dedicated to the former president.
