Goddard with his first flying liquid fueled rocket. The rocket was fueled by liquid oxygen and gasoline. It was ignited with a torch. The motor is mounted high in the nose to simplify stable flight. The cone over the lower mounted fuel tanks was there to protect them from the exhaust.
