During the French-Indian raid on Deerfield, 41 English settlers and 6 allies were killed. Mary was one of 112 men, women, and children that were captured and taken on a 300-mile forced march to Canada. At the time she was engaged to Jonathan Strong. It was thought that she was dead and Jonathan married someone else. When she returned she married Samuel. When she was about 70-80 years old Samuel died and she married Jonathan. |
