  Biographical Information	in 1916 Amos Wheelock founded the Goodrich General Hospital which closed in 1961. Three years later, the community built a full-service, 53-bed hospital on Michigan Route 15. The hospital was named Wheelock Memorial Hospital, in memory of the founder of Goodrich's original hospital.
