Henry Carl Keller Navy Muster. Navy Muster for May, 29, 1945 Henry Carl Keller was serving as a Seaman 1st class aboard the USS Dauphin. The ship got it's name from Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
Carl joined the crew of the Dauphin on September 23, 1944 at Newport, Rhode Island. On February 13, 1945 they started sailing for the Pacific.
On April 15, 1945 she arrived at the Ulithi Atoll, the staging point for the invasion of Okinawa. She sailed from Ulithi on the 22nd to land reinforcements at Hagushi Beach, Okinawa, from April 26 to 30. From there she carried casualties to San Fransisco, arriving May, 22 1945.
A week later the Dauphin was underway for the Philippines. From June 27 until the end of the war she carried troops from New Guinea to the Philippines.
On August 26, 1945 the Dauphin sailed from Batangas Bay, Luzon, Phillipines to Japan with occupation troops. She was anchored in Tokyo Bay the day of surrender, September 2, 1945. |
