- Captain William Brigham resided near Gates Pond in Marlborough, and was tythingman 1762; warden '73; field-driver '74, and selectman '78, '82',and '85. He was Commander of a Company of Minute-men in Colonel Jonathan Ward's regiment, and marched with them on the Lexington Alarm, 19 April 1775. He was the founder of Brigham cemetery in Marlborough. His Grave site is marked with a Revolutionary Marker.
